kraft-tex Pillow Boxes for Gift Wrap

Lately, I’ve been sewing a whole lot of fabric face masks. When I send them to family, friends, or shoppers on Etsy, I really enjoy wrapping the masks in cardboard pillow boxes. I had some in my craft stash, then ran out and had to order more. It’s almost time for me to make another order, when I realized I should try making my own!

Making your own pillow boxes from cardstock or kraft-tex is really easy! You can download free templates here. I used the small size to make the Emerald kraft-tex pillow box and the medium size to make the Linen kraft-tex box.

I cut out a small piece of Linen kraft-tex and stamped it with my name to make a homemade label. I used my sewing machine to stitch it onto the box before assembling. After printing the pillow box template, place it on top of the kraft-tex and cut out around it on all sides. With the pattern still in place, fold the creases firmly through both layers (pattern and kraft-tex).

Put aside the paper template and use white glue to secure the flap of the kraft-tex pillow box. After drying, you can decorate the box, wrapping with twine, buttons, flowers, leaves, or anything you’d like! You can even paint on it, or print directly on the kraft-tex using your printer.
