Where I’ve Been: Book Release Party
Book Release Party in Nashville
I know I talk a lot about fabric on this blog, but another thing I really love are sweets. Not the baking part so much, but the eating. When I found out a friend of a friend could put my book cover on a sugar cookie, I was intrigued.
Designed by Nancy of Sweets Ndulgence, these cookies were tasty! I heard rave reviews all night long, and had two more cookies the next day.
A special thanks goes to my mom, who brought her beehive lemonade dispenser for the quilting bee party. Get it? Another
shout out to goes to the lovely Courtney and Shannon, who
crossed state lines to get to the party, shop at Trader Joe’s, and drive
back home to Alabama. I was definitely feeling the love!
My family and my husband’s family both drove in from
out of state, and I was so humbled that they would want to be there to
help me celebrate my first book. I set up at a local coffee shop and invited Joel Levi
to play music. Friends, neighbors and others I’d never met popped in all evening. RaeAnna even brought her little man for a big night out.
I didn’t stress too much about the details. There really wasn’t time for that, and everything came together great! We had some door prizes and refreshments, and I brought books to sign. The night was tiring, but perfect. Fun and low-key and a great chance to celebrate! I have some more pics of the party on Flickr.
Babymoon in Savannah, Georgia
Realizing we are running out of weekends before the baby arrives, Matt and I decided to pick up the growing trend and take a babymoon.
Lovely city. A happy getaway and a nice chance to relax before the baby arrives. Love this guy. So what’s up next? Well, THIS WEEKEND, I’m headed to a . . .
Baby Shower / Book Signing in Columbus, Ohio
Clarification. Those are two separate things, but they are happening in the same city.
My mom (the tablescape champion of Ohio) is throwing a baby shower this weekend in Ohio. While I’m in town, I thought it would be the perfect excuse to visit my favorite fabric shop in town, Sew to Speak!
Well, that’s a wrap! From Houston and Tennessee to Georgia (throw in a day in South Carolina) to Ohio and back home. If you are the praying type, please pray that I won’t have the baby on an airplane. 🙂
