Happy National Quilting Day!
I brought along a recent finish, my first quilt top for do. Good Stitches. Can you spy my piecing “fail”? Regardless, I’m still happy with the way this one turned out, and the colors are perfect for spring and St. Patrick’s Day!
Here’s an art quilt from Music City MQG member Royce. The texture on this one is just beautiful, with sashiko stitching in the hills, raw edge applique on the skirt, textured leaves on the trees and straight line stitching up the side. I love her techniques!
Here is a quilt top Nancy (right) whipped up for her own bed. Oh, you know, she just free-formed all the letters. No big deal or anything! Nancy and I moved from the Indianapolis area to Nashville around the same time, so I was excited that we could check out our new local guild together.
quilting. You can check out the rest of my photos from the meeting on Flickr.
Earlier this week, I got to meet up with some other local sewing
bloggers and their fams for a trip to the zoo! I love zoos (even bought
myself a membership), so it was a fun time for sure. I sure miss the girls of the Indy MQG and my friends up north, but I am slowly, but surely, finding “my peeps” in my new city. 🙂
Are you doing anything special to celebrate National Quilting Day?
