Quilting at a Craft Show
This weekend, the Indy Modern Quilt Guild was invited to do a demo at Urban Folk Art, a new modern craft show in the area. We spent Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the show making pink, lime and white sampler blocks for a charity quilt (a modern take on traditional Christmas colors), and sharing our love of modern quilting with anyone who would listen!
I brought two of my quilts (cathedral windows mini behind my head and diamonds mini) and several quilt blocks in progress.
I love the variety of projects everyone brought to show off! I also got to flex my quilt-display muscles, and learn the art of pinning and draping quilts of all shapes and sizes.
Katie used her graphic design skills to create these awesome postcards. Love!
We worked, talked and checked out the show’s vendors. But mostly just had fun! I love how the dynamic of having sewing friends keeps me motivated to finish projects.
Do you have a modern quilt guild, or a group of quilty friends to get you moving on those works in progress?
