Habitat, Buttons Update and a Slice Giveaway

Last weekend I got to work on my Jay McCarroll Habitat challenge for the IMQG. Quilt top is close to completion! I went back and forth on my design, but I think it’s going to be fun. Here’s a sneak peek of part of the quilt top.

Thousands of Buttons
Also, I’ve had several friends ask me, “When are we going to get started making the button earrings?” I’m still waiting on the 10 button kits to arrive in the mail, but I have all my other supplies ready to go, including 5,000 coverable buttons, 5,000 earring posts, jewelry glue, and 1,000 earring backs (will order more).

A huge, heartfelt thank you to those of you who contacted me about donating fabric, interfacing or batting scraps for the thousands of buttons project. I’m thrilled to be able to make some earrings with your scraps! If you contacted me about sending fabric but haven’t gotten it in the mail yet, please do not despair. I’m still very much in the collection stage, so I can definitely use your scraps!

Giveaway
Also, I’m hosting a giveaway on my other blog Craft Buds for a Slice Fabrique cordless fabric cutter and two design cards. I got the chance to try one out, so you can see my review as well as an antique keys pillow I made from the Secret Garden design card.

Enter the giveaway here through Tuesday night!
